About Me

Evelyn Dugan is a multifarious experimental mover, performance artist, and choreographer. She was born in NYC and is a German/American dual citizen with BFA in Dance and BA in Business, Media, and Arts Management from Marymount Manhattan College (2025).

Evelyn began dancing at New Haven Ballet School in New Haven, CT. After moving to New Jersey at the age of 12, she trained at Princeton Ballet School under the direction of Pamela Levy. During high school, she trained with Douglas Martin and Mary Barton at Martin Center for Dance, and Derrick Wilder at the Lawrenceville School. She has attended intensives at Alonzo King Lines Ballet, the Graham School on scholarship, BalletX, Earl Mosley’s Institute of the Arts on scholarship, the Milwaukee Ballet, and Complexions Contemporary Ballet.

Evelyn creates through movement-based collaborations with artists in all fields. She is inspired by the legacy of artists before her, while working to create a legacy of her own. Evelyn began choreographing for the stage in high school as an inaugural company member of the Lawrenceville School Dance Collective. Since then, she has choreographed for composition showings and the Dancers at Work program at Marymount Manhattan College (2021-Present). She was also an Emerging Choreographer for Earl Mosley’s Institute of the Arts 2022 and presented a piece titled “Reminisce”.  She choreographed “4 Square” for Earl Mosley’s Institute of the Arts Scholarship Benefit 2022 and “3 Cubed” for Bridge for Dance’s Uptown Rising Performance Series November 2022.

In 2023, Evelyn was an artist in residence at Bob Wilson's Watermill Center, producing and performing "Taut Nature" and performing as the King in Bob Wilson's "UBU" for their Annual Summer Benefit and International Summer Program. In 2024, Evelyn returned to the Watermill Center, working on their production team for their International Summer Program, giving speeches on behalf of the Center and Robert Wilson, collaborating with invited guest artists and artists in residence on over 20 projects, stage managing for Lucinda Childs, and producing her own installation work with international collaborators Flavia Ruggeri and Elena Meloni. Evelyn was invited back to Watermill to perform her new solo work, "Bodies Bodies Bodies" for their Open Spaces event in October 2024. In 2025, Evelyn participated as a production fellow, helping to produce over 20 projects and featured artist performances, performing work by Olga Rabetskaya and presenting a new work, "Play On". She is currently The Watermill Center Programs Associate, dealing with all artist relations, supporting residency projects and exhibition related materials, and events.
